Pesticide
Education Program helps people use pesticides only when needed;
apply pesticides safely; understand and comply with pesticide-related
laws and regulations; recognize and understand the potential impacts
of pesticide use, including impacts on human health, non-target organisms,
and the environment. View or print their online pesticide appliator
training manuals.
The North
Central Region Pest Management Center is one of four centers
in a national network established to strengthen USDA's connection with
production agriculture, research and extension programs, and agricultural
stakeholders throughout the United States.
The Invasive Species Ecology and Biological Control Lab includes publications as well as information
on research, courses and workshops related to invasive species and biological control. The Biological Control Program teams up with the IPM Program and Department of Entomology
to host the North Central
Regional Arthropod Biological Control website. Another significant
source of information is the Midwest
Biological Control News, an on-line newsletter sponsored by the
USDA Extension Service and the North Central Region Land Grant Universities
including MSU.
