Scouting for diseases: Anthracnose Jan Byrne Diagnostic Services


Severe leaf spotting on a young hollyhock leaf.	Leaf spots, shepherd’s crooks and crown rot develop on more mature lupine plants.


Setae, produced in clumps on the surface of dead plant material, are a diagnostic structure.	Foliar dieback symptoms on a larger, more mature lupine plant.

The MSU IPM Program maintains this site as an access point to pest management information at MSU. The IPM Program is administered within the Department of Entomology, fueled by research from the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, delivered to citizens through MSU Extension, and proud to be a part of Project GREEEN.
