Soybean aphids still a problem
Christina DiFonzo, Entomology
Close up infected aphids on a leaf. Infected aphids are tan or pink, and fuzzy in appearance. Aphid populations in this field crashed in a matter of days. The tip of the paint brush points to an winged aphid dead from fungal infection (dime for size comparison).  This winged aphid is a source of infection for the non-winged aphids surrounding it in the picture.
